The "Taking Love Home" campaign, which aims to care for children during the winter vacation, was launched in Beijing on December 31, 2020.
The campaign was jointly organized by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and several other commissions and organizations.
During the launch ceremony, Shen Yueyue, President of the ACWF, conferred flags on volunteer representatives.
Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, presided over the ceremony.
The campaign aims to provide care services to children around the country, especially orphans, rural left-behind children whose parents have migrated to other areas for work, children in need and primary and secondary school students, to meet their need for more care and better family education and help them have a healthy, safe and warm winter vacation.
Four major themed activities, namely "Taking Stories of Good Family Traditions Home," "Taking Family Education Home," "Taking Law and Safety Home" and "Taking Social Care Home" will be held during the campaign.
The activity of "Taking Stories of Good Family Traditions Home" aims to publicize good family traditions.
The activity of "Taking Family Education Home" will organize parents and children to attend family education classes and watch family education videos. It will also provide parents with consultation services on child education.
The activity of "Taking Law and Safety Home" will publicize laws and regulations on juvenile delinquency prevention and protection of minors' rights and interests, and promote awareness of protecting children from accidental injuries.
The activity of "Taking Social Care Home" will bring love and care to orphans, left-behind children and children in need. Volunteers from all walks of life, including judges, procurators, teachers, lawyers, police officers, medical workers, social workers, women volunteers, college student volunteers and members of the executive committees of women's federations, will pair up with them.
During the ceremony, Li Yucong, a volunteer and procurator of the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang District, Beijing, shared her experience of participating in caring for children activities in winter vacation.
The ACWF will organize experts to record open classes on how to perform guardianship duties, protect minors from infringements, correct children's bad behaviors and communicate with children.
Relevant departments and organizations around the country will carry out caring for children services online and offline in a flexible way while meeting requirements of epidemic prevention and control.
